What Are The Best Treatments Available For Angioedema?
Treatments for Angioedema actually depend on how serious the condition is. If the condition involves the respiratory tract, the initial thing to do is to secure the air path. Usually, patients are brought to the hospital to place a tube into the throat to ensure that the airway is open.
However, patients with more serious cases for example, constant swelling, pain and itchiness, the following treatments can be provided:
- Epinephrine
- Antihistamine, it can be oral or injected
- Oral or intravenous corticosteroid
Remember, the aim for the treatment is to lessen the feeling of itchiness, swelling and pain.
